The Graduate & Early Careers Networking Night will connect students with professionals who are in the early stages of their careers across the energy industry. The event will feature 4 industry speakers, including Curtin alumni, who will share their career journeys, transitioning from university into industry, and insights into the opportunities and pathways available within the energy sector.   The evening will begin in a lecture theatre, where each speaker will give a short presentation discussing their current role, how they progressed to where they are today, and the experiences and decisions that have shaped their career. A facilitated discussion will provide students with the opportunity to ask questions and gain practical insight into entering and navigating the energy industry.   Following the presentations, attendees and speakers will move to The Curtin Tav for an informal networking session. This will give students the opportunity to speak directly with graduates and early-career professionals, build industry connections and learn more about different career pathways in a relaxed environment.

Interested in gaining insight into the energy transition and possible careers in oil and gas? Come along to the PESA Networking Night, hosted by Curtin Energy Society (CES) and the Curtin Geoscientists and Engineers Club (CGEC). The night consists of two technical talks by industry members Martin Wilkes, the Managing Director of RISC, and Rosie Johnstone, the Chair of CCUS Network Australia, on the topics of the Energy Transition, and Carbon Capture and Utilisation (CCUS), followed by a non-technical talk by Pablo Crespo Carrillo, a Geoscientist at Mineral Resources Limited, about careers in the oil and gas industry.    There will also be a chance to network and meet up with other like minded people over food and drink at the Tav afterwards!   Tickets are free but required for entry and numbers so make sure to secure your ticket!    Location: Club Hub 106A.101 (The Junction) and after the Curtin Tavern Date and Time: 12th August 2026, 5:30pm - 7:30pm   - CES Executive Committee
